Can you see any websites?
Try visiting some other websites. If they are running slow too then the problem will most likely be related to your internet connection.
You can check how your ISP (who you get your internet connection from eg xtra, ihug, Paradise, Maxnet) is performing by doing this simple test (called 'pinging').
Solution:
Call your ISP and ask them if there are any problems on their network that they know about.
When I try to go to my website I get a message about the domain name not being found. What has happened to my website?
You may need to check that you haven't missed a payment to your domain registrar. If you don't pay for your domain, they can suspend it.
Solution:
Pay your domain fee and ask your domain registrar to reinstate your domain name. You should also call your web hosting provider to let them know there is a problem.
Are the other functions like Word running slow?
Try opening up Word and performing some usual tasks. If these are running slower than usual the problem may be with your computer.
If you have any suspicion that your computer is running a little slower than usual, the first thing to do is to close everything down and do a restart.
Solution:
If this doesn't fix the problem with all function running slowly or unreliably you will need to call a computer technician to service your computer.
Why won't my changes show up?
If you have made changes to your website but they aren't showing up, it may be because you are looking at a cached version of your website. Clear your cache by doing the following:
Select Tools/Internet Options
Make sure you are looking at the General tabbed page.
Under the heading Temporary Internet Files, click both the Delete Cookies and Delete Files buttons.
Close this box.
Close down your browser
Open up your browser and check the page again.
Solution:
The above instructions should work. If they don't then you should call your hosting provider for support.
Why can't I download my email?
If your email simply won't come through there could be several reasons:
Is your internet connection working (see above)
Are you using the right username and password (passwords are case sensitive so check whether you have Caps lock on - it shouldn't be on)
You may have a really big email that is causing your connection to timeout while downloading it effectively 'bunging' up your email account.
You may have too many emails in your POP account (anything over 100 left on the server is likely to be too many)
Solution:
Check your connection, login details etc. If this doesn't help, then you may need to call your email hosting provider for support.
